Inspiration

Hi everyone.
I have been having so much fun on my holidays participating in a series of online classes called
                                                           "Pop and Colours 2".

I am loving watching the thought processes and the techniques of these amazingly talented artists!

Here is my layout based on the class by Connie Jones...

I used this class to scrap about what I have decided to be my word for 2014. That is "Balance".
Last year seemed to be such a crazy, busy, unbalanced year for me. Going back to study and then working 5 days a week left me feeling like my life was unbalanced. I felt I didn't participate in as much school activities with my children, exercise enough or just find enough time to create and be me. So this year I am determined to try and balance out all the important things i my life....wish me luck!!!!

On this layout you can see I have used an exclusive wood veneer 3x4 cards by "A piece of cake designs". These are great to use as photo matts or journalling cards on your layouts! You can cut them, ink them, write on them...whatever you like!!! I have used this 2014 one behind my photo and to make the numbers more noticeable I have cut around them and popped the photo behind them!
You can get them here.....

This layout was based on the tutorial by Riki Kovasin.........

Perfect layout to create this layout of One Direction Convert for my daughter Maya! This was her first ever concert!!!!! You can imagine how excited she was...oh and me of course!!! LOL!

And this one from our very talented Aussie girl Georgia Heald...

Georgia's layouts are always so ful of awesome layering and different mediums. I'm not as capable at using the more muted tones as she does so this is about as muted as it gets for me !!!

I will be back soon with some more to share..xx

It's a scorcher!

Its a scorcher here today! Too hot to leave the house so I thought it was a good chance to catch up on some blogging!

Recently I created this layout for the latest sketch over at Scrap Friends. I originally began doing it for another challenge but it some how evolved into this one!!
This photo is my favourite of all I took at Christmas!
I have used gelatos and book paper to create my background and added lots of embellishments like threading sequins, wire, rubons and washi tape!
Once again non traditional Christmas colours!

This layout is based on the latest sketch at Skissedilla   Lot's of bright colours stitching and gelatos!  And one last one one to share!!!

Another a Christmas one!  This one was a just a bit of a fun one using lot's of different mediums and embellishments! Even eyelets and brads!!! The title is all Heidi Swapp!

First 2 Crafty Post

Here is my first blog post as a resident guest designer for 2 Crafty!!
I have 3 layouts to show this time around all showcasing the awesome 2 crafty pieces you can purchase!
Now I have to admit when it comes to chipboard I tend to leave it raw. So I may not have awesome techniques for you to dress up your chipboard but I hope I inspire you to want to add these gorgeous pieces to your work also!!
So I thought I would start with a Christmas layout since we have all probably taken a heap of photos!
I'm not a traditionalist when it comes to scrapping my Christmas photos in fact I tend to steer clear of most Christmas themed products! With this in mind I wanted to show you this Christmas layout that doesn't have any traditional Christmas products which you could adapt to any other themed layout!!

I did a crazy photo shoot with my kids by setting up a small photo booth scenery with props! This is my son Will playing up to the camera!! I loved this pose and when I saw it I knew that the perfect embellishment was these cool light bulbs!!!!
I have simply coloured them in with a black sharpie!!

I have also used this awesome sqiggle border piece which I sprayed with white Dylusions mist and then doodled on top with a black pilot permaball pen!

And of course one of my favourite pieces of all times are the chevrons! I can't get enough of them!!!This time I left them raw.
This layout is a bit of a fun one of Selfies of myself and my daughter!! Selfies are so much fun and therefore I think the layout should depict that!
What better embellishment for selfie photos but these cute cameras!!!

I have left the camera untouched except for some black pen work on the edges with my permaball pen.
The same applies to my loopy font "smile" title. I LOVE this font and I just added some black lines to it to highlight on my layout!
I have also added to this layout one of the tiny funky frames....
I have just roughly dabbed some white paint onto it and placed it over my photo! Simple and easy embellishment!
The last layout I want to share with you is one that I created for a challenge site called "Scrap the Girls".
It is a layout in which you had to use 3 photos or more. I have scrapped this layout of my daughter Maya planting our first vegetable garden!

Thanks for popping by Eb xx

More Cupcake kit designs...

Hi again everyone! Happy New Year!
Today I have a blog post that hopefully will have you all inspired to scrap those summer photos!!!
This is a recent set of photos of my daughter at the beach for the first time this summer!! Such a beach babe!! LOL!
I have used the December "Cupcake kit" from a Piece of cake designs.

I really wanted to showcase the beautiful range of papers in this kit but also have another play with some gelatos!!!
Firstly I created my background on white cardstock with some sewing and some different mists. I then cut some of the papers into different sized circles and placed them beside my photos.
Then I took some the patterned paper that had a collage of different paper strips on it and also the cut off sections of the other papers and began randomly adhering them to the edges of my layout. Once I did this I realised I needed more colour so that's when I pulled out my gelato from the kit and some others in my stash.

I began to highlight the gaps between my papers and their edges with the different coloured gelatos. Such an easy way to brighten any dull papers!!! I then went crazy and coloured over my circles as well!!!!
I then added some other elements from the kit like the stickers and sticker words and added some of my own rub ons and a dash of doodling!
The alphas were a tad bright for this layout this time so I used some of my own grey ones.
Well Ill see you again soon! Eb x
